MNIII Foundation
Change is on the horizon—or at least that is what we are fighting for. On March 27, 2020, we tragically lost a vibrant and amazing soul, Marshall Michael Nicholas III. Today, we are proud and honored to present a foundation to honor his legacy. It has been a long five years, but with the help of Marshall’s loving brothers from the Kappa Delta Rho chapter at James Madison University, we are able to passionately elevate his story and help those who are desperately in need of support.
Fentanyl has swept the world by storm. Drug overdoses are one of the leading causes of injury and death among adults and have risen significantly over the past several decades in the United States. Overdoses involving synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl, as well as stimulants like cocaine and methamphetamine, have also increased in recent years.
This epidemic has tragically destroyed individuals and families. We, the Nicholas family,
were told by local police that Marshall’s life and death was “small potatoes”. WE as a
community disagree. And now we get to help families who still have life left to live. Join us
on his mission!
Sense of community
Our fundraisers bring individuals together so they feel like they are apart of a family. Community involvement is so important when we are battling such a big problem.
SUPPORT
We will be utilizing the funds raised by the foundation to financially support young individuals wanting treatment but lack the funds to do so.
One life at a time.
We full heartedly believe that everyone deserves a chance. And we hope that our worry will bring change in legislation and change in funds for those in need.
Our goals
One thing about Marshall was he loved his school! At our annual fundraiser event at Whitlow’s in DC we come together to raise money and cheer on JMU Dukes Football. We have many exciting events coming in 2025, including our annual golf tournament hosted at Old Hickory Golf Course on August 25th 2025, and the MNIII MONEY CUP (date/location TBD) for those who loved to skate like our man!
Keep an eye out for our virtual fundraisers throughout the year such as Super Bowl squares, and a March Madness bracket just to name a few!
